I would check out the visitor center. The exhibits are informative and Pres. Johnson's tailor shop is in there. Also, the view from Pres. Johnson's grave is worth the short drive over there.
The website mentions a Christmas closure, but I don't see a New Year's one mentioned. You might want to try calling them sometime this week or next so you don't drive over there …
