Hello, Purchase a clipper card cost of $3 then add dollars onto it. Cost from centre to airport is $9.65 and takes 30 mins. Clipper card allows you to use public transport but not cable cars. Lots of buses dissect the city. Me and my wife walked the city from Union Square down to Pier 39, approx 30 mins and felt safe. Clipper card can be purchased at info kiosks and train station.
Hi ... what time do the cable cars start running?... does it go from Union Square to fisherman’s wharf?... is Saturday the same? Sounds like it’s worth purchasing a full day ticket for us. How do you buy ticket?.. thanks in advance.

Also be aware that the queues are very long at the wharf and union square so you will be waiting around, sometimes easier to walk a couple of stops as the queue is smaller

From the Market street turntable take the Powell street car and ask the conductor which stop for union square. It is 3rd or 4th but either will take you there. exit on right, curbside and down the little hill a few short blocks. Sorry so late but may help someone else. Mike
