We're flying in from Chicago for the 2018 fest. I've read that it's highly suggested that we bring either a blanket or lawn chair to the festival. Obviously, we won't be traveling with those items. Are chairs available for rent to accommodate those of us flying in?

First of all, have a great time at the Satchmo Summerfest. It's a good time, but it's hot. Carrying around a blanket or folding chairs will probably just add to discomfort from the heat. There are chairs in front of the stages, but those get taken pretty quickly. Bring a beach towel or two--those are easier to carry, a layer between you and the ground, and a quick, impromptu rain shield for when it rains.
