Great spot to get in a good walk, visit the lighthouse, Lake Huron and swim. Perfect spot for a day at the beach. Wish we would have gone prepared to swim. Water was clear, clean and refreshing ReneeA35的完整评论

Some campsites are right on the water, meaning the back of your lot is on the sandy beach. There is lots of beach(sandy) around Tawas Point and so you can just walk your kayak out to the beach and launch. Because this is a peninsula, depending on which way the wind is blowing, you can choose which side of the peninsula to launch. Basically the campground is on one side of the peninsula and the day use area is on the other side of the peninsula,and the point is quite a walk, not really where you would launch from. The day use area has a cement side walk that you can carry your kayak up to an past to the beach 100 feet past the pavillion. ON the day use side is also a parking lot that is a 50 foot walk to the beach,, so you could park there and push your kayak in. I am sure there is plenty of places that you can launch from.
