We would like to take the Self Guided tour. These appear to only be offered in the late afternoon (after 3:30) leaving us just a few hours afterwards. Are we allowed to take the shuttle bus up to the grounds before our tour time so we can see the grounds earlier, and then do our 3:30 self guided tour? It doesn't seem like 2 hours would be enough to see everything when their earliest self guided tour is 3:30. Thanks!

Yep! We were able to walk the grounds whenever we got there, but took the tour at our scheduled time.
We have two small dogs. Is there someplace to leave them during the tour?

I saw no pets on the day I toured. I also saw no place to leave a pet. I doubt very much if any Historic Peoperties permit pets. Best to check directlt with them.
I would suggest a raincoat. Most of the tour is indoors. The grounds were very wet when we went and it did sprinkle but it did not rain hard. Great tour!
