Would like to go to Eagle Beach as I will be on a cruise so porting for the day. What are the chances of getting a chair and umbrella. How early do you need to arrive.

You would need to go very early. But if you don't get an umbrella there are alot of trees and shade.

We took one of the tourist buses which was $5usd each one way. They went back and forth to Eagle beach from the port. They seemed to be about 30mins a part. We rented 2 chairs and an umbrella for $50usd for the day and it came with two bottles of water. It was from one of the resorts (can't remember which one). they also would bring us food and beverages from the resort and we could use their washrooms. We were told that you could rent chairs and umbrellas cheaper in other areas but we like a few of the added things this one got us.

Palm Beach is about 2 1/2 miles north of Eagle beach. We had a car and the main road connects the two. I wouldn't recommend walking it with children since it is a busy road. I think there are taxis, but since we rented a car we didn't use any. I'm not sure if you can walk the whole way along the beach, but believe it would be an arduous trip. We did find that renting a car for the week was around $300.
