New Delhi: IndiGo is sending two planes to Istanbul to bring back passengers stranded in the Turkish capital after their flight to Delhi was cancelled on Friday due to a technical issue.

IndiGo airline issued a statement after several passengers took to social media platform to report about delay on the flight. One of the fliers Anushri Bhansali said that she is stranded in Istanbul due to delays and cancellations of IndiGo Airlines.

Hundreds of IndiGo passengers have been stranded at Istanbul airport due to their flights to Mumbai and Delhi facing long delays, with the airline apologising for the inconvenience.

An IndiGo Airlines flight en route from New Delhi to Jeddah was diverted to Karachi's Jinnah International Airport after a 55-year-old male passenger fell seriously ill while the aircraft was in Pakistani airspace. Aviation sources revealed that the passenger's condition rapidly deteriorated during the flight, Express News reported.
