Central Japan Railway is the company behind the country's high-speed train Shinkansen, which was the world's first commercial bullet train system, according to Train Spread. The train, which connects most of Japan's major cities, travels up to speeds of 320 miles per hour.

This is not the first high-speed rail project being pushed in the state of Texas, as Dallas City Council members are also looking into proposals.
