A portion of Mendon Road in Cumberland that's seen its share of traffic diversions because of an ongoing bridge project became even more snarled on Saturday when a water main broke. It happened near the Burger King at Chelo Place - between the end of George Washington Highway and the Interstate 295 interchange.

Nearly two hours after the water main break was reported, police were called to the scene upon learning that a sinkhole had engulfed a minivan on Tampa Avenue.

The City of Nacogdoches said that Mound Street is currently closed due to a water main break. The section of Mound Street between Ochiltree Street and Bailey Avenue is closed while crews work to repair the break in the water main.
