Volunteers at Mustard Seed Ministries in Fort Pierce prepared more than 3,000 hot Thanksgiving meals on Thursday.

Thanksgiving is all about spending time with your family and loved ones, but there are many people in the military who will be spending the holiday hundreds of miles from their homes.

This Thanksgiving, many Americans are not able to make it home for the holiday — that includes thousands of soldiers and their families at Fort Meade. Thursday, leaders there exchanged service caps for chef hats to help the troops feel more at home.
