Millions of Americans flying or getting behind the wheel for the Thanksgiving holiday are bracing for flight delays and dangerous roads as bad weather sweeps the US in what’s forecast to be a record-breaking travel period.

It was a wet and chilly Thanksgiving in the Northeast, with some places getting up to three inches of rain. Snow was in the forecast for upstate New York and New England, while the Great Lakes region was bracing to be buried under several feet in the coming days.
