Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported that a cyclonic storm is currently situated over the southeastern Arabian Sea near the Kerala coast. A warning has been issued for heavy rainfall at isolated locations across Kerala from today until November 17.

Chennai is expected to experience heavy rainfall on November 13, prompting the IMD to issue an alert for the city and eleven surrounding districts. As a precaution, Tuesday has been declared a school holiday in Chennai.

Chennai and nearby districts are set to receive heavy rainfall due to a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal. IMD has issued yellow alerts as rain is expected to intensify across Tamil Nadu through November 15.
