中央文史研究馆资深馆员、加拿大皇家学会院士、南开大学讲席教授、中华诗教与古典文化研究所所长、国际著名教育家和诗人、中国古典文学研究泰斗叶嘉莹先生，因病医治无效，于2024年11月24日15时23分在天津逝世，享年100岁。

叶嘉莹先生是中华民族的优秀女儿，她的一生是饱经患难、持守“弱德”的一生，也是金鳞透网、创造奇迹的一生。她的逝世是南开大学的巨大损失，也是中国教育界、学术界和国际文化交流领域的巨大损失。我们深切缅怀叶嘉莹先生，更要继承叶先生的遗志，“书生报国成何计，难忘诗骚李杜魂”，学习她对中国传统文化的热爱和奉献，将中华优秀传统文化发扬光大！
