东京电力公司30日表示，在福岛第一核电厂2号机组的「熔落核燃料」（俗称燃料碎片）的试验性採集获得突破，机械爪在反应堆安全壳底部抓取到少量燃料碎片。不过，还需要大约几天到一周的时间，才能收回这支抓着碎片的机械爪，所以还有最后一段工作。若能成功，这将是福岛核事故后，首次成功回收燃料碎片。
