It’s been a colorful tradition here in San Diego for as long as people can remember. The fireworks shows have been just as much a part of SeaWorld’s identity as the animal shows.

There are new documented claims that the popular fireworks shows over SeaWorld are polluting Mission Bay and the surrounding beaches. San Diego Coastkeeper and the Coastal Environmental Rights Foundation have sent a letter of notice of intent to sue SeaWorld.

The city of San Diego and SeaWorld have settled their lawsuit in which city officials alleged the park failed to pay more than $12.2 million in rent, late fees and interest.
