Former World Champion Viswanathan Anand backs up the newly crowned champion D Gukesh after the final match attracts a lot of criticism.

After landing in Chennai on Monday, world chess champion D Gukesh took to his social media handles and thanked the foremost Indian Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand, who was the first to begin a revolution of chess in India,

To the youth, Gukesh offered a simple message: “Keep enjoying chess. You will achieve your dream one day.” He praised his opponent Ding Liren, calling him a “real inspiration.” “What I learned from Ding is what an incredible fighter he is. True champions fight until the very end,” Gukesh added.

In an exclusive chat with NDTV, Viswanathan Anand admitted that he was surprised to see D Gukesh take the world championship title home on Thursday.
