Vice President Kamala Harris has won the popular vote in New York over former President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential race, CBS News projects, and with it the state's 28 electoral votes. CBS New York is tracking the results in each county, and you can see how your area voted below.

President-elect Donald Trump's extraordinary national political comeback in Tuesday's election did not include winning his former home state of New York, but there were signs of his momentum in many counties across the Empire State.

For Democrats, there is hope that the boost from Gov. Kathy Hochul’s oft-discussed coordinated campaign will aid their chances across the state while Republicans hope that the Equal Rights Amendment ends up as a turnout boost for the GOP rather than the Democrats.

The 2024 presidential election is over, but the path to Inauguration Day on Jan. 20 is just beginning. The votes have to be certified in the states, the Electoral College has to meet and then Congress counts the vote.
