Tributes have been made to a surfer who died after reportedly being impaled by a swordfish in Indonesia. Giulia Manfrini, 36, from Turin in northern Italy, had been surfing in the waters of the Mentawai Islands Regency, West Sumatra Province, before the incident on Friday, according to reports.

Giulia Manfrini, a passionate Italian surfer and surf coach, was tragically killed by a swordfish attack while surfing near Masokut Island, Indonesia. Despite quick efforts to save her, she succumbed to her injuries.

Indonesia's newly minted leader, President Prabowo Subianto, officially swore in his cabinet on Monday, a team which analysts said reflected continuity of his predecessor's main policies.
