India's MobiKwik shares soared 85% in their trading debut on Wednesday, valuing the financial technology firm at about 40 billion rupees ($474 million), as investors bet on its prospects in a booming online payments market.

Fintech firm One Mobikwik Systems Ltd. saw a stellar market debut, with shares closing at a 90% premium over the issue price of Rs 279. Trading began at Rs 442.25 on the BSE and concluded at Rs 530.30.

Mobikwik raised Rs 572 crore through the public issue, which is its second attempt to list the company in the Indian bourses. Prior to the public issue, Mobikwik raised Rs 257.4 crore from anchor investors.

Shares of India's MobiKwik jumped 58% at pre-open in their market debut on Wednesday as investors bet on the fintech firm's prospects in the fast-growing online payments sector.
