2010年7月15日 · The one I had stolen was an ammo can that required just over 2 miles of hiking round trip, then a lot of poking/crawling around/over/under slabs of concrete from an old bridge demolished many decades ago. It was stolen a few years ago. I replaced that one with another ammo can in a slightly different spot, and it hasn't been bothered since.

The military sells off surplus and those, who buy ammo cans at auction and then sell ammo cans, want to keep the price high. So, they produce rumors that they will soon be banned in hopes of driving the price up.

The suction from the cold air in the ammo can required two people to break the seal on the can! I'm keeping the can inside the house now. 2004年2月17日 · Ammo cans are probably about the best container out there, but as you suggested they are not for suitable for all cache placements. If the cache is hidden in the wilderness somewhere an ammo can is fine, but if you are hiding a cache in a public park, it may be best to use something else. Kar of TS!!

2013年1月16日 · Steel cases can be loaded. Berdan primed brass or steel cases can be reloaded. I've done both in 7.62X39. It is a little bit more of a pain to remove berdan primers, but RCBS makes a tool for the job. Drilling a hole to use boxer primers is a no go, because they're not the same size and there's no reliable way to keep the primer from falling out.

2011年8月13日 · This will be my first Ammo Can hide. I went to the Dollar Store and Spent $15 on some random goodies and am using an Ammo Can from 7.62mm cartridges. It's not a really big box, but there's a decent pile of stuff inside. Tell me if you think this would be a nice cache to find or if I need more stuff.
