2011年10月4日 · On the plus side, Tormach has made considerable improvements in the last seven years. The switch from the original Mach 3 to their Path Pilot software has been a good step forward. While the mill is not capable of day in/day out sub thousandths precision, with care some precision work can be done with it.

2015年1月5日 · The Tormach has a lifting ring, but MUST BE single point lifted (a 1 ton minimum long-reach engine hoist is needed, NOT the standard HF engine hoist) using the lifting bar following the Tormach setup. Most Tormach owners have a lifting bar, you can probably borrow nearby (it's heavy plate plus chain-cheaper to buy than try to borrow by mail).

2018年1月21日 · I have a PM935 mill and have been thinking of buying a Tormach Superfly. I would use it in a 3/4" R8 collet or an ER40 adapter. BTW, the inserts are ridiculously priced from Tormach or LMS, so I'd buy them on ebay. I searched here and found a couple of older threads where there was some disappointment voiced regarding the finish from the tool.

2020年8月15日 · OK, if this ever happens to anyone else, here's the fix; The X must have 10" of travel. If you have the limits switch stops (dogs) too close in and the travel is under 10", its gonna freak when it hits the right side dog (as that is the 10" mark, the left side is 0) I moved the right side out as far as I can, now I was hitting end of travel, but still not 10".

2019年12月23日 · I wouldn't hesitate on a used Tormach again, but condition is everything. From the 2 photos you attached, I wouldn't pay $10K based on what I've seen on other used offerings. Another consideration is Tormach is no longer selling the 1100 S3, just the 1100M and 1100MX.

They helped design the basic machine they buy over there. Also they fill a knitch that was lost when American manufacturers stop making machine tools.

2022年2月2日 · Thanks Mark, yes this should be a recall I think. When I searched it I found nothing. Then I posted on a Tormach forum and immediately several people said they had the same issue and did the change. Tormach said the new board design was specifically to address and prevent this issues so seems like it is a when not if the Red board will fail.
