2023年9月7日 — For a VA panel the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 will be amazing for competitive games. While it is a VA panel, it has no noticeable black smearing, though it has a little bit of inverse ghosting. It supports up to 240Hz refresh rate and it's BFI feature goes up to 240Hz as well. It's input lag is 3.3ms with BFI, or 2.9ms at 240Hz no BFI.

The colors were all great, but there was one big issue: the contrast ratio. Content that displays dark scenes literally was grey all the time because of the poor contrast ratio. I have a Samsung QLED VA monitor — the same type of panel as my expensive Samsung TV — and I’m very happy with it. I haven’t noticed any noticeable performance issues compared to the IPS display I had previously, the colours are great, and the viewing angles are fine so long as I position myself properly and stay there.

2023年4月6日 — Edit a couple of days later: 1: Still no regrets, it's an excellent monitor all around, very vibrant and the motion blur isn't notable in my eyes. 2: worth noting that the G27C5 does in fact use a modern gaming-tier VA panel from Samsung which I've been told makes a big difference as that makes this a pretty much optimal scenario for a VA monitor.

If you enjoy any kind of first person shooter game steer clear of any VA panel. Even the Samsung odyssey has VA smear. IPS may have glow but the colors pop more / but darker scenes don’t look nearly as good as a VA panel. I’d say if you’re into RTS or 3rd person go with a VA if you’re into 1st person shooters pick up the ips.

2023年9月18日 — The ADS PRO of the 75" is indeed excellent and surpassing the VA panel this year!!!! Native contrast doesn't mean shi*##, since you never watch anything on the TV with LD (local dimming) turned off. The final contrast number, including local dimming active, is what matters and NOT the native contrast with LD off.
