2011年2月10日 · Look for kinked lines, loose connections or obstruction in the lines. If you get to the sediment bowl and the flow is still low, then the fuel valve or the filter in the sediment bowl are clogged or the fuel vent s clogged. If you have good fuel flow to the carb, Run the engine til it quits again and immediately get off and test the sprk.

2011年2月10日 · Finally solved my problem. The fuel shut off on tank has a tower type filter up inside the fuel tank. Mine had broken off and was not filtering. A minute piece of gravel was in the shut off valve. Also, crud on top of the fuel pump inlet area. The 4 filter locations on 2000 from carb back to tank are: 1.)In line brass filter in carb/fuel line.

2010年4月3日 · Looking for help getting my old Ford back in shape, but it isn't getting enough gas to run without choke out. Have had the carb apart 3x, checked intake gasket for leaks, and reset timing so far. Wondering if I'm not generating enough vacuum to pull fuel into the intake? Maybe replace the carb? 2014年12月27日 · Point problems is probably what you have. They are very simple. They are just a on-off switch for electricity flow. Get a point file or an abrasive and file the contact points. Remove corrosion and burn spots . On high cam on the distributer cam there should be a gap, in the points of probably .023" gap. or so.

2013年11月5日 · took filter off and fuel would flow from tank. put cover on filter and no fuel would flow to diesel pump. carefully look at where the fuel exits the filter to injector pump and if there is a double seal "O ring" it will block the fuel line.

2018年3月19日 · I have a 64 Ford 4000 4 cylinder gas tractor that I am trying to repair. Can't set the timing correctly because the engine surges at idle. Haven't been able to locate the problem. Anby ideas? The usual cause is the mixture is too lean and/or the timing is retarded.

I was having problems (see link) with my fuel supply and as usual thought the worst or most complicated thing had to be the culprit. I got a rebuilt car, electronic ignition and was starting to think the fuel pump might be bad.
