2013年3月1日 · You can use 67mm shells in 2 1/2" chambers. Fiocchi, Cheddite and most other European manufacturers produce 67mm, and for that matter 65mm shells. Fiocchi and Hull Cartridge 67mm shells reload well on a standard 2 3/4" press too.

2009年9月21日 · The gun has 2 1/2" chambers so I'm going to cut some shells down. There is no load data out there for these short chambers. I was wondering if the psi would be the same for the shorter shells using the load data for 2 3/4" shells. Shot charge (1oz.), powder charge, wad, hull, and primer will be the same except in a shorter 2 1/2" hull.

It seems like Fiocchi's 2 1/2" shells for our 16 & 20 gauge guns, are now real hard to come by. 2014年4月26日 · He said there was no reason, related to safety, to lengthen an original 2 1/2 inch chambered gun to shoot 2 3/4 shells, as long as the pressure of the 2 3/4 inch load you use is the same as the pressure of a 2 1/2 inch load. Please note there is NO data regarding short chamber 20g and 16g guns with modern ammo.

2011年3月27日 · As the current 2 1/2" loads are ment for low pressure loads (not always velocity) for use in guns with that chamber length. I shoot 2 1/2" loads in almost all my guns, to include 2 3/4". They work quite well and do kill birds and clays with authority. Most 2 1/2" loads have MV of 1150 to 1250fps, that's plenty of velocity for any upland game bird.

But.....with a 2.5 inch shell, you have a 1/2 oz of shot, while the 3 inch shells have 11/16 oz or 38% more shot. I think you would probably still retain more shot in the effective pattern area with the 3 inch shell than you would with the 2.5 inch shell.
