In addition, metal cans are single use versus glass jars where you just need to use new lids each time or can even use reusable lids with a rubber ring that can be used several times before replacing.

2020年8月16日 · Wash and dry jar. Fill jar with food, leaving room for absorber. Wipe jar rim with damp (not wet) cloth. Add oxygen absorber. Add new lid and ring and tighten. This was done with everything at room temperature, since several sources said this would work well. The results canning at room temperature were horrible.

Many people successfully use canning jars for more than 10 seasons, and jars left to gather dust for 10 or 20 years haven't seen any use or wear and tear at all in that time. So it depends.

2022年5月22日 · The rings work great, too.I used both widemouth and regular mouth lids for this batch. The sealing material under the lid actually seems slightly wider compared to the Kerr brand. In the picture, the Pur brand lid is on the top and Kerr lid on the bottom. The color of the Pur lid is a little lighter. Happy canning!!
