Sometimes you may need to brown certain meats in a couple batches in such a small Dutch Oven, but once that is done (and any necessary browning of vegetables, it can all be thrown back in and stewed. I'd say the 6 quart is just fine for 4-serving meals.

I used it for a baked pasta dish this evening & it did the trick. Plus it was a lot easier to clean than I expected. Definitely recommend it if you need a more affordable option.

Personally, I would hate the long handles as they are just in the way and make the whole thing take up way more room. The DDO is more compact with the shorter handles.

Lodge also makes an enameled Dutch oven exclusively for Walmart that has a non-rounded bottom. Just got mine for $50, as opposed to the rounded bottom Lodges on Amazon for $80. I specifically wanted a Lodge, because yes the enameled DOs are made in China, but so are all the lower end (<$100) ones.
