The 328i uses a GM tranny which uses the much cheaper Dexron type of fluid. I'd have to look it up, but it's around $6 per quart vs. the $15+ per quart for the ZF trannies in the 330/335's.

What I'm stumped by, though, is why the file dates on the UPD01004.bin update show a December 2011 (see my earlier post, please).

Cold air is coming out of the dash, but it is very weak out of the vents. I tried changing from top to middle to bottom vents. I also closed some vents and reopened. No joy. It sounds a bit like a diesl engine. Is this how it's supposed to be. There is much more ticking compared to the E39. In addition when reversing, there is kind of a whining noise compared to the E39.

I drove it (almost) home ~33 miles this evening.... On the way home, while in Eco mode, I started getting yellow "Drivetrain Malfunction: Drive Moderately" alerts.

Cleared it a week or so ago, came back on today. Did a little googling and found its likely to be the DMTL Pump (LEAK DETECT DIAGNOSIS SENSOR). BMW Part 16137333301.
