2009年6月9日 · If you must, prime the surface first and then test it. Actually, yes you can paint enamel over acrylic assuming the acrylic is dry. The only problem would come from the thinner used with the enamel. If it's mineral spirits you'll be fine...lacquer thinner however may soften the acrylic if the concentration is too high.

Also, Testor Acryls are pretty good but they have one major flaw, if you apply them onto an unprimed surface, masking will pull the paint up. 2014年10月13日 · yes works FINE. The Testors spray cans are save over just about any model paint except Gunze Aqueous Hobby Colors. For some reason, those paints don't like the Testors sprays. But, they work fine on Testors enamels and acrylics, Tamiya, Humbrol, etc. Likewise the flat and gloss clear lacquers in a jar work fine over EVERYTHING.

The distinction you're making is between petroleum-based paints that you thin with mineral spirits or turpentine, and acrylic paints that are usually water soluble.
