For those driving the step van, how’s the experience so far?
For step van, I have never had a helper, always been by myself. I get about the same routes I avg 190 stops, 230 locations and 350 packages. It is just a lot more space to work with. You aren’t all cramped and can’t stand or work your way thru the van. I personally like it so much better and driving it is really easy as well.

2021年6月11日 · Step van experience can open alot of doors for UPS and Fed Ex express that uses step van drivers. No rescues. Cons: No AC. More packages and Overflow. More stops but (mostly in a area that'll be yours). I know at the dsp im at, you get paid if you drive a step van, but if they tell you to drive a prime van you'll get prime van pay.

2022年12月18日 · More oversize really. But we get a bigger dolly so it helps. We also have a lot more room to organize our totes and oversize and it makes skipping really easy. Also the speed on the step van. Can't beat it. Leave both doors open when delivering. You can get out from either side pretty quickly (faster on the right side).

The step van is cool I like them better then the regular vans at times but my cons is Size so you really got you got be careful on turning clearance etc 2 . Backing up and bank up camera at my dos the camera barely works so watch out for it 3. You up high so don’t jump out that van like that your ankle and knees will suffer

2023年2月17日 · Step vans rule compared to every other van. More space, sliding doors you can literally just hop out of at every stop, and an extra dollar, why not. In my experience you also don’t get more totes and packages. It stays pretty much the same. Once I went for a step van every other van I’ve been in is a shit show.

From my initial day in an Amazon Step Van, I haven't improved much in terms of delivery speed (*~33-35 stops per hour).

2021年4月4日 · amazon pays the DSP a bonus for each driver who is qualified to drive a step van. You should do it - at least at my DSP we got 2+ days worth of pay for the training plus a 500$ bonus which may or may not still be a thing.

2023年9月26日 · It all depends on your DSP, my previous DSPs didn't pay me extra if i wasn't in a step van. Edit: As for the step van routes, i usually have the same routes with more businesses so more packages. It shouldn't be too hard from your regular routes because i know sometimes my dispatch give the cargo vans drivers a step van route. You might not ...
