2021年4月25日 · No, the Atlas is not one of the best mechs of the game and there are many mechs which are cheaper at the same time they are much better, and then are also other mechs which are more expensive (but not a lot more) and much better too. Look at the Banshee and Battlemaster in the store - they're 10-12m, and far less capable machines than the Atlas.

2020年6月5日 · It has so much free space I had like 95% armor, 2 AC20s, 1 Gauss rifle, 3 assault jump jets, gyro, ammo. At one point I was using a UAC20, but the refire penalty and heat were annoying. I got the (regular) Atlas much later, and it felt like a pile of junk in comparison to the ANH. Though the Atlas 2 is nice.

2022年6月2日 · In the case of an Atlas , ER or pulse lasers, UAC or LBX 20, or 10, LRM 15++ and SRM 6++ If modded, clan tech for max armor, ecm, and no loss of firepower. The general range weapon upgrade suggestion is a good rule of thumb especially with assaults unless you have a specific role in mind.

The Atlas' base loadout is pretty much designed around the idea that it's slow. The LRM-20's start firing at long range, then the M Lasers and SRM-6 come in at medium range, then up close you get the AC/20 added in. I refit the Atlas with the Comms System++, replaced the AC/20 with an AC/10, and added in more ammo and armor.

Trying to figure out if the atlas has any real advantage over the king crab, so far what i see: King crab has same number ballistic hardpoints, but it has them in the arms, benefitting from arm accuracy bonus (which synergizes well with ballistics as most of them have recoil penalties), and they are separate which is also good as quite a few ballistic weapons are rather large.

Also, all mechs cant be seen with 12 meter tall blocking terrain, so for gameplay purpose no mech is taller than 12 meters.
