What are the best anime finales you have ever seen? : r/anime
The same kinda happens with Cowboy Bebop and Tatami Galaxy, but I'm not sure I'd say they have straight up better finales than Aria, maybe on par. Origination is just one of the best things ever all the way through and the finale is, as it should be, even better than the rest of the series and a perfect wrap up.

The anime ends on a good note with not much else needing to be resolved. I didn't care for the tournament arc prior to the ending and I remember that being disliked, but if there's anything it served to do is flesh out character backstories and bring Yusuke's chapter to a close as he grows from a boy to a man.

Pretty much everything was setup way beforehand, connections are made to events all the way in the beginning like Nina and Hughes, the series' themes all tie in very nicely, and the character motivations make sense.
