The X56 is great with one common issue/feature, there's a decent amount of center "wobble." it can be corrected for with dead-zones, or even a 3D-printed part and 4 springs, but it can be annoying. The throttle can be "stiff" but it's easily fixed by reducing some of the lube that comes applied from the factory.

HOSAS is generally better for space games since you need momentary rather than continuous thrust, but the x56 has thumbsticks which can server this same purpose. Eventually, once you've outgrown your starter, than you can consider the big Virpil bucks.

Virpil are top of the pecking order. VKB Gladiator NXT with TWCS throttle. Will run you $260 with plenty of buttons and the paddle on the back of the TWCS works great as a rudder and torque pedals. Any winwing hotas. Depends on your platform and budget.
