Control panel is powered by only one side (120v) of your power panel. Elements need both sides (240v). If you look in your breaker box, you should see a 'double' (2 siamesed breakers pick up both 120v legs of the power panel) 50 amp breaker marked for the stove.

Dex418; Greetings and welcome to the Forum ! I thinik your #3 is probably as close as you can get. The GFI type you have may be a little sensitive, and, the insulation in the Humidifier (for that particular model) might be a little thin, and causing some electrical leakage to the frame.
