That seems soooo long ago that I vaguely remember what recovery was like, but I can tell you that I went on to run almost every day for years, run 5 marathons and backpack many hundreds of kilometers.

I just hit the 3 month point and had my check up, x-rays still show I'm healing fine, but still feel some pain with each step.

I was able to do these things before surgery. What I have learned is the most common cause of failure of a cheilectomy is incomplete removal of a spur which was my case.

2009年10月30日 · Had cheilectomy right foot November 16. Pain has been basically minimal since procedure. Prescribed oxycodone, only taken two tablets. Otherwise using ibuprofen and Tylenol as needed. Was up and around walking with open shoe post op day 2 and driving. Now just basically ice, elevation and compression to decrease swelling.

2012年11月29日 · After progressively worse pain in both big toes, Cheilectomy was performed on both feet. Yeah, I hobbled around for a few weeks but it was worth it with almost full motion in both toes and no pain. That was about 8 years ago. Doc told me it probably wouldn't last. He was right but only my left big toe is causing a problem. Right one seems fine.
