Fusion cannot transmit digital and analog at the same time. AMS allows convenient and automatic switching between analog and digital, but it only does one at a time. All Fusion radios support AMS. Fusion does not require any sort of preregistration. Turn on the radio and use it.
You mentioned that System Fusion is an open standard, but isn’t it just proprietary to Yaesu? While Yaesu developed System Fusion and continues to expand the product line further, they took steps early on to publish the specifications.
To send or receive files you need to use the News feature of Wires-x. Delving into this is beyond the scope of this presentation.
