My original plan was the 2W, and then I decided on the 2.8W, and then I ended up with the 3.8W laser since I am more interested in cutting than engraving. I bought my laser and driver setup from jtechphotonics.com.

2022年8月31日 · I'll keep using it as an extra machine. It works great because I only use it as a laser. I took the router out of the mount to lessen the weight. I can crank up the speed if needed. I don't know if I would try to use it as a laser and a cnc machine. But if you are going to try out a diode laser, I like the Jtech ones.

2022年12月21日 · The new laser can cut 1/4" plywood easily in 2 passes with air assist running at 15 IPM. It gets 90% through on the first pass, then clean it up on the second. The 24W system is great for engraving. Its faster and does a better job than the old 7W laser. I use the laser to put my business logo on things.

2022年8月31日 · Jtech are reputable and reliable so if they say it’s 14W that’s probably close to its actual power. With a laser module that size you will want air assist to get the most out of it - it’s also going to be really important to put it in a laser safe enclosure too.

If you are shopping around for different brands then make sure you buy an extractor that supports 4K@60hz and HDR (10Bit/12bit colour). They should list a Data Rate of 18Gb/s.
