Unfortunately MA9000 does not have a streamer, so I can only use it with a computer, it is not practical to use it with a mobile phone. I'm interested to know if the quality of the amp justifies its high price.

2020年7月29日 · I had the 4429 hooked up to a Mcintosh MA9000 - way to bright. I later got a mc462 - and used a schiit freya + and it was better. Unfortunately Ive never heard a Mcintosh pair well with the JBL speakers. Maybe one of their tube amps would? I've also noticed all Mcintosh to be light in the bass regardless of what speaker you use.

2023年6月16日 · IMO - 1950's technology (tubes) is silly... You can get good sound, and McIntosh was getting good sound in the tube days when most audio equipment was lacking. But now it's just more expensive, especially for a power amp. But I assume the tubes are in the preamp stage where you don't need audio transformers.

2021年4月26日 · I still have a MA6300 and sometimes one channel went out occasionaly. An easy replacement of one relay (<50 Euro) solved it. Though the bias of a MA6600 I owned (and sold) had to be re-set as one side of the amp came unreasonably hot. Luckily working on a McIntosh is very straight forward as the lay-out is well done.

Maybe on classical music, it would really shine, but I'm not much of a classical music guy.
