How scientifically valid is the Myers Briggs personality test?
Oct 23, 2013 · I'm tempted to assume the Myers Briggs personality test is complete hogwash because though the results of the test are more specific, it doesn't seem to be immune to the Barnum Effect. I know it's based off some respected Jungian theories but it seems like the holy grail of corporate team building and smells like a punch bowl.

I think this test deserves more attention because there are many one-sided and overly stereotypical mbti tests that don't deliver reliable results. May 5, 2020 · Ti is the INTJs sixth function, and one's sixth function is usually stronger than their second, just undervalued, so most INTJs actually do have a very well developed Ti, but this test I posted tests for which ones you use, which is usually Te for INTJs. If your Ni was the highest function according to the test, you are probably an INTJ.

So that you can understand where I’m coming from: I’m an extravert with social anxiety, highly creative and I usually have a strong emotional intelligence when my own anxiety is not involved. Jun 19, 2023 · There's only one and it's the official MBTI test. You should not consult other tests. Also, if you're under 25, your chance of actually testing accurately is extremely low-- and you'll only do yourself a disservice by boxing yourself through The Labeling Effect.

Just how reliable is the Myers–Briggs type indicator?
Mar 30, 2015 · This makes it hard to defend a personality test such as the one Myers and Briggs developed, where the measured type would change in the middle. In other words, it's assuming a bimodal distribution when the measured scores follow a normal distribution. This goes to the validity of the test of course, not the reliability.
