Nov 19, 2023 · I've heard largely similar things regarding both versions of the console, but I'm still on the fence about it. On one hand, the slim model has significantly more storage (1 TB vs 825 GB) but the design's a bit weird and the vertical stand costs like $30 extra. The regular version looks better imo but doesn't have as much storage.

I'd trust the cooling of the newer slim over the original PS5. Sony has has overheating issues on PS3, PS4 and PS5 but then it was always fine on the update model (PS4 slim for example). So the PS5 slim is the only version I'd buy at the moment. Reply reply. David-J.

PS5 normal comes with a stand to prop up the PS5 vertically (and horizontally), whereas PS5 slim has a clip that allows you to only prop up PS5 horizontally. Aside from that, PS5 slim will (obviously) have a smaller footprint.

Oct 10, 2023 · PS5 vs PS5 slim | Size Comparison. “Vertical stand sold separately”. How does the slim sit horizontally. Looks like it’s using the disk drive for support. The blog said it comes with a horizontal stand. Just not a vertical stand. I’m just flabbergasted that the “stand” is 4 paper clips super glued together.

Nov 12, 2023 · Yeah the OG PS5 disc drive is noisy as well. Pretty much zero sound insulation and probably really cheap components. At least it's only on during disc check and installation I guess. You might be able to DIY some sound insulation with the disc drive being detachable if you can be bothered. Reply reply More replies.
