Mixed reviews for cameo 4, should I make the switch?
2021年3月15日 · They have a tendency to stop support on their machines and change everything forcing people to upgrade and buy new machines. I have had the silhouette SD, silhouette cameo 1, cameo2, portrait, and now I have the cameo4 (for some reason I skipped the 3 LOL). I love silhouette and the machines are great and I love the software.

ADMIN MOD • Issues connecting my Silhouette Cameo 4 via bluetooth I noticed that my Cameo won't connect with Bluetooth unless i disconnect my USBC hub, wich is weird because it only has my HDMI monitor connected to it, also is the only Bluetooth device with issues (Mouse and Keyboard working properly).

2024年1月16日 · Portrait 4 has the heat foiling tool(3rd party alternate if Cameo 4 - the Foil Quill system) and also an electrostatic mat available. Cameo 4 has more clearance and is larger (cutting area, but also in size). Also looks like Cameo 4 supports Rotary tool (fabric cutting wheel) which the Portrait 4 doesn't.

Silhouette is a bit more clunky, more "indie" rather than mainstream, but more advanced and allows you to do more things based on your preference.

2024年6月21日 · I used a 4 for four years and it broke a couple of months ago, so I bought a 5 plus. If you can afford it, definitely get the 5. It's so much quieter than the 4. And it's much more accurate. With the 4, doing large cuts, the beginning and end points sometimes were off by maybe 0.5 to 1 mil. With the 5, it's been very accurate so far.

2020年8月19日 · Odd thing, the software does display it as Cameo 4, and the Machine ID, so it "sees" it, either through the computer or over Bluetooth (whether or not it's actually installed), it just shows as "unavailable" for actually sending jobs to. Just annoying as running a permanent cable across an active hallway isn't ideal.
