2004年9月9日 · Yes, it works well for both sheep and goats. I usually mixed it with their water. I put it in a bowl and let the blackbellies eat it free choice as needed. I also put it out free choice in a bowl. Baking soda is alkaline, and is supposed to keep the rumen from getting to acidic. I also put it out free choice in a bowl.

Of course, I'll be in trouble when some druggie figures out how to make some drug using baking soda...you should see the looks I get at Costco when I buy 2-3 bags at once!

Anti-bloat formula, can get this at farm store or the best is a product called DSS 5% solution, from the vet. Encourage mouth movement with stick in mouth like a bit. Encourage walking.

2006年7月7日 · For frothy bloat this is a good recipe: 1/2 cup water. 1/2 cup mineral oil. 2 tbsp baking soda. Plus pepto bismol. Mix well and drench or ideally it would be best to tube feed, in addition to helping putting the tube down and move it around . Hope she is doing better !
