Mounting a Toilet: Grout, plaster, or putty?
2009年9月25日 · From what I read plaster of paris works well but is a little old fashioned. I think it may be easier to remove from the tile later though. I'm pretty sure plumber's putty would be easiest to remove but is my last choice. It just doesn't look that good and I don't think it will stabilize the toilet base as much as grout or plaster.

The tile floor should be flat and level and then when you put the toilet it should not rock at all. If it rocks, then that means the floor is not level and flat.

2005年1月5日 · When all else fails, follow the manufacturer's instructions. Whatever you use, you need to set the tub into it prior to it seting up. THen, if your water is available, you could add some to smoosh it down to the right level. Plaster of paris sets fairly rapidly, you'd have more time with something like deck mud, but either would work.

There are basically two reasons a wax ring can leak. One, if the toilet rocks and moves. That' not going to be the case the way the toilet was set in plaster.

2015年1月16日 · I don't understand why you don't want to use Structolite when you don't seem to have an issue with plaster of paris. Its easy to mix, compresses/ squeezes out easily, but not messy, when you set the pan. Easy. You don't even need a trowel, though it's nice to have one. I don't use the dollop method. I prefer a full setting bed.
