8,15x46R CARTRIDGE DIMENSIONS AND BULLET & LOAD INFO.
Aug 4, 2022 · Ricin sent me a diagram of the 8.15 cartridge which showed the over-all case length to be 1.831" and an inside case mouth diameter of .330," and an outside case neck diameter of .349." My rifle cartridge has the following dimensions-over-all case length is 1.872-The inside case mouth diameter is .321 and the outside case neck diameter is .340.

Attached is a photo of a 30-30 case, beside a loaded 8.15X46R cartridge and a .316" stop ring bullet. As yamoon said, the chambers of the 8.15X46R are highly variable, even after the cartridge was "normalized".

Dec 3, 2009 · HOW TO MAKE 8.15 X 46R CASES FROM 30/30 CASES. Deprime and clean the cases. Trim the cases to 1.81" (check your chamber length, may be different) Anneal the case necks. Size them in a .32/40 or 8.15 X 46R die without expanding the case necks. Just size the cases enough so that they will go into the rifle chamber.

Oct 19, 2020 · I also have a German/Austrian 8.15x46R Rifle but its a tip up. Mine is odd in that bullet it seems to be larger 321 at the chamber than at the 316 exit. I found some reworked 8,15 x 45r brass and loaded one brass with a bit of trail boss and a 32-20 lead bullet removed from a factory load which the neck of the 8.15 brass held firm.

I have filled my tag the last 4 years with an 8x57 Mauser, all were one shot heart lung hits, all ran less than 50 yards and expired. That is humane to me.
