But I also attach another hose to the discharge of the vacuum and set the hose to blow the exhaust out the window. My last shop vacuum lasted about 25 or so years before the bearings started to complain.

2010年1月4日 · The Powersmith is probably the only ash vacuum that I've ever found favorable reviews on (ranks 4.6 out of 5 stars on Amazon). Conversely, the Hearth Country vacuum only ranks 1.8 out of 5 starts. I usually only vacuum my stove when it's completely cooled down, and have always used a small, 5 gallon Shop Van that I bought at Lowes for about $25.00.

2016年11月8日 · I have an ash vac with double cartridge filters inside and no dust blows out even when full, though by the time it's full the cartridges need a good shaking out too and it begins to strain to draw. It will give a puff of dust on restarting after cleaning the filters, which is not a problem if you remember to just cycle the thing once outside.

2014年10月30日 · That model certainly looks like an option. Good reviews too! Another option: perhaps get a coal rake, rake them to the sides, scoop our ash only (not warm), and repeat. Personally, I do not have an ash vacuum. I simply scoop out during the winter and vacuum after the season with my shop vac. Andrew
