Sep 23, 2023 · Yes CPU (Software encoding) is still superior to GPU (Hardware encoding) in quality to size ratio. The only advantage hw enc has is real-time performance. There's no synergy benefit for having both cpu and gpu from the same vendor for encoding as it will use either or. It won't "favor" anything, you decide if you want hw/sw encoding.
