Colin Hanks is an American actor who portrays Alex Whitman on The WB sci-fi series Roswell. Hanks is the eldest son of American actor Tom Hanks and Susan Dillingham. His surname was changed to Hanks after his parents married in 1978. Hanks was cast as Alex Whitman in 1999, which was his first major role.
