SCAL works great with my Cricut Expression, but when I try to cut a design with the Cricut Cake is starts to do the cut then stops. Sep 7, 2012 · If you were to advertise on craigslist or even look on ebay for a Cricut machine that has SCAL 1 on it already, you should be able to use it for your cake stuff. I have seen numerous videos on youtube about how to convert a regular machine into a cake machine, just make sure you also clean it thuroughly and change out the blade.

Sep 30, 2012 · Design studio is a software program that helps layout the shapes you're about to cut. You do need to have the cartridge that goes with the shape though. We use the cricut cake but use it with make the cut software, cricut has disable the ablility to do so with their later models. I wouldn't buy another cricut because of this.
