2016年3月8日 · Zeds look so weird in cursive because of the Cyrillic influence. The Russian Z is 3 in their alphabet, and somehow this managed to become the Z for English speakers who write in cursive. but people don't write looped z's because of cyrilic, lopped z's are just an old way of writing the letter z.

2014年4月1日 · Some letters in 'standard' American cursive are just so unwieldy looking to me. I was wondering if anyone knew of any cleaner alternatives to say, uppercase A, D, F, G, H, J, S, and T? Also some lowercase letter seem a lot harder to connect to the next than others, like o and v. Capital K is atrocious in cursive. Any thoughts to make it prettier?

2024年4月28日 · As a kid the cursive form was its own weird shaped letter with no connection to the printed form of 'G'. Rather like I still regard the lower case 'z' with its descending tail element. This disconnect can be seen in how people further stylize/mutate what we're calling the American 'G' in this thread.

The g version is much more widespread, but you can still write д as d, and others will understand it just fine. (I’m Russian) Д sounds like [d]. Without any sounds like in g. I've always learned д written like a "g". Bottom "g" and bottom "d" is more of a "Б". i've never seen it being written as a d, only g, D and д.

2013年1月26日 · Thanks! Follow up question: that cursive is American cursive? Other than that, this seems like your typical book featuring calligraphy. Alas. I am always looking for new fonts. So many of the old styles have dropped away over the years.

2020年12月15日 · I tried learning this sort of cursive because it seemed like the next step. After about half hour I realised, the reason cursive is so hard for a lot of people is because it looks absolutely nothing like any form of any letter. I stuck with my print type handwriting, might not be pretty but at least it's legible.
