Self-Sealing Silicone Tape: Just wrap up the break in the boot with this stuff. It's tough; stretchy; and grease, solvent & high temperature tolerant. Example: X-Treme tape.

I have an inboard passenger side cv joint boot that has failed, and has pretty much slung all the lubricant out. Tow truck coming in A.M. to tow car to Subaru dealer 85 miles away. I have warranty on the repair, and am very happy about that!

It was "confirmed to fit" on a 2005 subaru outback and I double checked this by looking on Rockauto.com's website where they sell the same Beck Arnley 103-2976 as a "confirmed fit".

Nov 19, 2005 · The individual boots, two clamps per boot, and the grease, can be bought separately, but the cheapest genuine Subaru inner rear boot I found was $27.xx, and around $76 for a factory outer boot-- double that for covering both rear axles and you're up to $206 for only the four genuine Subaru boots. I love to DIY, but's that's a bit expensive.
