May 5, 2024 · These loose-leaf coin albums appear to the be very first Dansco 'albums' ever made. They basically took individual pages from their folders and spiral-bound them. After these 1946 albums were made, Dansco did not create any page-bounded albums until they purchased the rights to the Continental Line series from Ervin J. Felix in the late 1960's.

Apr 13, 2023 · I've seen the occasional Littleton Dansco-type set album (with the photos of the coins between the pages) and wonder if it is a scarce album or somewhat easy to obtain. The Littleton Dansco albums are definitely harder to obtain and are rarer. But I do not get the sense that the coin community places a higher premium on those albums.

May 9, 2021 · Coin supply outlets like Wizard and Amos are always out of stock for most of the Dansco albums. There are sellers on ebay, but they are all price gouging because of the supply and demand. I am not going to pay $70 or more for a product listed at 42.95 retail on the suppliers website. Dansco has always been a poorly run business.

Dec 14, 2022 · Dansco has only just barely started producing albums again, after several years of inactivity. And they're being very slow about it. That results in a huge shortage in Dansco albums, relative to supply. That, of course, drives the price up. Perhaps, someday, Dansco will again produce albums at a rate sufficient to meet demand.

Nov 15, 2020 · Last week I ordered Whitman folders for my Franklin and Kennedy sets that have been in 2x2's for so long because of the problems the Dansco people are having. The coins look better in the Whitman folders. The contrast of the blue pages and the silver coins is much more pleasing than the tan colored pages of the Dansco albums.

Jan 26, 2006 · Some coins tone in a Dansco others don't. Don't put PROOFs in a dansco, they get funky looking, at least in my experience they always have. As Ms. Bopper stated, SAEs do some really neat things. I have also found that wrapping SAEs in toilet paper (unused) and storing them in a cardboard box for a year gets you some really awsome purple colors.

Aug 25, 2023 · I recently purchased a used Dansco album that is missing a few plastic slides. Has anybody made their own replacement slides? With a cursory search, I see that there are acetate sheets that are 250, 175, and 100 microns thick.
